The essence of Suprapictorialism is to add the old canvas-wall pairing to the traditional figure-ground distinction in a meaningful way, that is, to go beyond the idea that painting is the Negation of the Wall, incorporating parts of it into the visual sense of painting, whether with a new texture, color, or to imaginatively complete a form!!!

The above is the core of the book I am preparing, entitled: WHAT IS SUPRA PICTORIALISM? In which I postulate that ONE of the ways to overcome the modern image is to incorporate the triad: figure-ground-canvas & their respective negations: non-figure, non-ground & non-canvas or wall, expanding the visual sense of the works, that is, going beyond a Klein`s group.
